Hello and welcome to Presentation of Mary Early Childhood Program.  It is our
intention to introduce to you "God's Children" and those who are responsible for
preparing these children for Kindergarten.

History of the School:
The purpose is to provide a homelike atmosphere where young children may
develop physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.  It is oriented
whereby each child can develop at his/her own pace.
The Presentation of Mary Program follows the Montessori methods and
philosophy using concrete material to teach abstract concepts.
The creative interest of the children is stimulated whereby he-she can unfolds
spontaneously and manifest the greater person within, forming patterns for
learning that which will serve him/her throughout his/his life.
To do this we use some of the philosophy and techniques of the Montessori
Method and the Spirituality of the Congregation of the Presentation of Mary.
Maria Montessori believes that
"nothing comes into the intellect that is not first
in the senses.
"

  • The outside world is incorporated to create a Child size classroom.

  • Materials and  activities are designed to stimulate independent
exploration and develop a child's ability to make judgements.

  • Environment provides a wide range of sensorial materials particularly
designed to develop the five senses:  Visual, Tactile, Auditory, Smell and
    Taste.

  • Environment entices the  child to proceed at his/her own pace from simple
    to complex activities.

While following the Montessori philosophy, our program is also open to, and
incorporates tradition and current educational thoughts and practices.

Staff:

Enrollment:
To be enrolled in the pre-school program, a child must be at least 2.9 years

visit the facility and meet one or more of the teachers.  It also gives the teacher
an opportunity to briefly observe the child.
A child may be enrolled for two, three, four or five full or half days per week,
based upon the availability of the program.
